On September 9th – International FASD Awareness Day – advocates across the globe joined in a “Pause for Pregnancy” to encourage women to PAUSE and think about the effects of alcohol on pregnancy.
NOFAS Georgia, the state’s first affiliate of the National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, held its own “Pause for Pregnancy” event on the campus of Georgia State University. For nine minutes, volunteers stood frozen in mid-conversation to draw attention to the cause. The message was simple: “For a pregnant woman there is no known safe amount, nor a safe time to consume alcohol."
The event was hugely successful, thanks to our terrific and enthusiastic volunteers!
